TypeSafe AI · System 1 model
What’s Jev?
Most AI models write. Jev, from TypeSafe AI, decides. Give it some text and a question with a fixed set of answers, and it picks one and tells you how sure it is. It’s a System 1 model: a quick gut call, not a long chain of reasoning.
“What color is the sky?”
Blue. Instant, no thinking needed.
“Why is the sky blue?”
Now you have to reason it through. That’s what the big chat models are for.
Jev does the first kind: fast answers to questions with a fixed set of answers.
- FastAbout a fifth of a second per call.
- CheapAbout $0.04 per million input tokens, so you can check everything, not a sample.
- Three kinds of questionYes/no, a rating on your scale, or one pick from your list.
- Not for writingNo summaries or explanations. Your code decides what to do with the answer.

Here are some rambling, real-world messages. See how fast Jev works through them. The same text and questions go to OpenAI, Claude and Jev. Pick an example or paste your own, then press Run.
Advanced
Each question is choice (pick one option), score (a level on a scale) or noul (yes/no).

Why each model answered this way
Why speed matters: a voice agent
Someone calls an airline’s AI phone agent. Before the agent can say anything useful, it has to know what the caller wants: a new flight, a refund, a lost bag, or a human. Every moment spent working that out is silence on the line.
